HONOLULU, HAWAIʻI — In response to the recent Kona Low storm system impacting communities across all Hawaiian Islands, the Nation of Hawaiʻi is actively coordinating disaster relief and recovery efforts, with a focus on direct community support, resource distribution, and ongoing clean-up coordination.

Heavy rains, flooding, and high winds have affected multiple regions, with particularly hard-hit areas including the North Shore, Haleʻiwa, and surrounding communities.

Community Response and Coordination

At this time, the Nation of Hawaiʻi will not be holding Aloha ʻĀina Day this weekend, and instead is urging its network of volunteers and ʻohana to mobilize directly within the communities most affected.

Volunteers are encouraged to:

  • Reach out to families and neighbors in impacted areas
  • Support localized clean-up and recovery efforts
  • Assist where needs are immediate and visible

This decentralized approach ensures that support is responsive, immediate, and grounded in community relationships.

Waimānalo Relief Coordination

The Nation of Hawaiʻi is actively coordinating relief efforts in Waimānalo and surrounding areas, working closely with community members to assess needs and deliver support where it is most needed.

Current priorities include:

  • Distribution of food and water
  • Support for impacted households
  • Coordination of volunteer efforts
  • Ongoing communication with community leaders

Activating Partners and Resources

The Nation is working to activate its network of partners to support relief efforts, including:

  • Supplying essential items such as food and water
  • Aligning with community-based organizations and resiliency hubs
  • Supporting ongoing clean-up operations across affected areas

Direct Support and Mutual Aid @ StormKokua.com

In addition to coordinated efforts, the Nation is providing informational resources and pathways for direct mutual aid support to families affected by the storms.

This includes:

  • Connecting individuals to available resources
  • Supporting community-led aid efforts
  • Aligning with existing resiliency and response networks
  • Visit stormkokua.com to directly support affected families

Standing with Our Communities

The Nation of Hawaiʻi remains committed to standing alongside our communities during this time of recovery.

Relief efforts will continue to evolve as conditions develop, with a focus on responsiveness, coordination, and care for both people and ʻāina.

Community members are encouraged to stay connected through official Nation of Hawaiʻi channels for updates and ways to support.
