Vice President Brandon Makaʻawaʻawa, alongside President Puʻuhonua D.K.B. Kanahele and 2nd Vice President & Minister of Foreign Affairs and Commerce John Kealoha Garcia, attended the Waimānalo Neighborhood Board meeting to begin a Listening First outreach effort focused on gaming and tourism.

Speaking on behalf of the Nation, VP Makaʻawaʻawa provided updates on ongoing participation in the Tourism and Gaming Working Group, with a statewide report anticipated in June 2026.

The delegation invited the community to engage in open dialogue — to share manaʻo, concerns, and vision for Hawai‘i’s future.

In addition, community members were invited to upcoming ʻĀina Days, focused on mauka to makai restoration efforts in Waimānalo. Following recent storms, the Nation is working to connect landowners and tenants across the ahupuaʻa to better steward waterways and strengthen collective responsibility to the land.

Community members were encouraged to share their input through a QR-linked form, helping ensure that voices from Waimānalo directly inform ongoing discussions.
